Yesterday Onno visited us. he came to pick up the rabbit ears handlebar and brought his camera.

Ride

Were having nice weather so we took some time to ride...in the afternoon.

           After the testride we adjusted the carb and she rides much better now. Super 2stroke sound !!!!
            The speedtwin still has some issues and I need new cilinder bolts and will be fixed saturday.

Gillet allmost ready

Johan worked hard on his gillet and she's allmost ready, except some small things. But she runs like a champ. I'll shoot a video soon.

Crankshaft

Yesterday I picked up the Gillet's crankshaft. Johan immediately started assembling the engine.

 I started making a new liscenceplate/taillight holder. I'm losing the lower part of fender....Pics will follow soon.

Gillet big end

The fixed big end with new needlebearings ready for assembling to the crankshaft. I just got a phonecall is allready fixed and ballanced. Thanks to Swa.

Update

Sorry for the lack off posts but that doesn't mean we didn't do anything. Except last weekend I was at Graspop metal meeting.

Johan cleaned his complete gillet and greased the necessary parts.

The engine is complete apart. The big end had some clearance and we're fixing that at the time. With a bush , new bearing needles and the lathe.

The Triumph 5T had a leaking headgasked because the new gaskets were to thin. Also mounted new clutch springs and the tool box. I'm making some passenger footpegs and a new seat so my girl can ride along . The kawa tracker got sold today so I'm in need of a new (old) dirtbike...

1954 Gillet 175

Yesterday we went out to pick up this little  Belgian 2stroke project for Johan. The engine runs but didn't ride. After cleaning the carb, exhaust , ect... new throttle/clutch cable and some inspection , there was one clutch plate bend and the blocked the complete clutch. The plan was the build a complete new bike around the engine but it is complete original and has nice patina. I think we'll leave it this way....

 

I took the Trumpet Speedtwin out for a little ride. I lost a few things and need to tune the carb a bit.
